Assistant to the CEO

Accelerator for America seeks a driven and qualified individual to fill the role of Assistant to the CEO in Los Angeles.

Accelerator for America is a 501(C)(3) organization based in Los Angeles, CA that seeks to scale and replicate local solutions to economic insecurity across the country. We support initiatives that connect people with existing jobs, create new opportunities and foster infrastructure development. We work closely with local and national leaders on these issues, including Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Qualifications for the Assistant to the CEO position include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in politics, economics, accounting or other related field
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • An ability to work under pressure and handle stress
  • An ability to handle many competing priorities at once and filter accordingly
  • A strong sense of personal organization
  • The ability to write quickly and with precision
  • Strong proofreading
  • Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

  • Manage and schedule CEO’s personal calendar
  • Arrange CEO’s personal and professional meetings, lunches, and appointments
  • Staff CEO at all events when necessary
  • Manage and prioritize paper flow, emails, and messages
  • Manage and maintain lists including contacts, passwords, and other databases
  • Manage, track and submit all expenses, bills, and receipts
  • Coordinate with staff on all materials that require CEO’s approval, edits, and/or sign off
  • Manage the briefing process for CEO around his events and appearances, including the creation of his briefing papers, remarks, and presentations
  • Participate in and help coordinate CEO’s involvement in the creation of briefing papers, remarks, and presentations for events and appearances by other principals
  • Manage and coordinate all of CEO and staff travel
  • Coordinate with the offices of other principals related to their travel, trips, calls, and events
  • Help manage and staff events for all related organizations
  • Manage CEO’s personal household and correspondence including all technicians, event coordinators, payments, personal mail, documents, checks, gifts, and calls

    Development Director

    Accelerator for America seeks a driven and qualified individual to fill the role of Development Director in Los Angeles.

We support initiatives that connect people with existing jobs, create new opportunities and foster infrastructure development. We work closely with local and national leaders on these issues, including Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

    Qualifications for the Development Director position include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2+ years of relevant fundraising experience
  • A strong sense of personal organization
  • Experience asking for financial support and maintaining relationships
  • Willingness to dive in with a no-task-is-too-small attitude
  • An ability to write quickly and with precision, as well as strong proofreading skills
  • Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day fundraising operations including calls, grant-writing, and follow up with foundations, corporations, individuals, and other potential funders
  • Organize call time, schedule follow-up meetings and manage fundraising correspondence
  • Manage finance events and follow-up with guests
  • Ensure strong donor relationships both locally and across the country
  • Ensure organizational follow through and manage accountability with grant terms and other requirements of fundraising
